Who is the rosy cheeked lady(?) in the 4th picture with a bobble hat and a headlamp on.
Strange barn too with concrete panel walls and a double metal up and over door!
C'mon Tim you have had your fun - whats the story?
And it only took 2 years to post the "2011 Barn Find" photos!

Thankyou AHM, I now spot a factual error in this story.
Tim wrote that he pushed open the door to let in a bit more light.
Firstly you pull an up and over door and anyway you cannot see in until it is almost fully open unless you take to crawling. Tim would surely have mentioned that.
It all seems a bit too poetic now, but don`t we all wish it were true.

At what point did we suddenly find that this is a concrete barn with a 'double' up and over door. Unless you have a different set of photographs I don't see any of that.
I'm glad Tim has now shown me pictures of my Elan that I lost a long time ago one night whilst driving down country lanes when I was probably over the limit. I just have to find the logbook and folder of documents, although I vaguely remember they might have been in the boot. What a silly thing to do!

Look at photos 1 to 4 - they clearly show concrete panel walls. Photo 4 has another person in it with a headlamp on head stood in front of a metal up and over door. Here I'll make it easier for you "enhanced2 photo attached:

I think that person is in fact a miner and the car is located in a concrete underground tunnel; probably put there during whatever the last nuclear scare was. Bay of Pigs? Argy-bargy? Soddom Hussein?
"Urbex Tim discovers lost Elan".... I can see it now on the 28 days later website.

They tend not to do that here in the UK. You are not allowed to use unreasonable force against burglars or trespassers, you can only kill burglars if there is imminent danger to your own life or your family/guests.
In this case, as described, there wasn't any forced entry (the door of the building was not locked (?)) so it it merely civil trespass, for which the owner can merely sue for the value of any damage done.

I think he was joking!
Breaking and entering does not require anything to be broken or forced or locked - Ajar is neither open or closed - the door was opened - argue!
If I were the farmer I would merely run him over with the tractor.... it was dark, I didn't see him there, I was startled by the woman with the torch on her head, my foot slipped.... Sue trespassers for ressulting damage

Bill,
You also forgot to mention that we are all quite civilised chaps in good old Blighty:
Farmer/Landowner:
I say old chap what are you doing in my concrete sectional garage like barn?
Rambler/Intruder:
I'm lusting after this original barn find Lotus Elan Sprint in the delectable shade of Colorado Orange that I have just discovered obviously totally forgotten by it's wealthy eccentric but obviously upstanding pillar of the community owner, dontcha know,
Farmer/Landowner:
I say, look at that old thing I really have forgotten about it, must get around to clearing this concrete sectional garage like barn, you look like a handy fellow, I don't suppose you could help me out?
Rambler/Intruder:
"sucks teeth" I'm sort of busy today on a winters walk, but I'm more than happy to help a chap out if I can, perhaps lend me your Landrover and trailer and sub me ?50 for diesel and I will make it disappear for you.
Farmer/Landowner:
Well I must say I'm awfully glad you dropped by today, perhaps you could look in the other concrete sectional garage like barn around the corner for me, my cousin Ed is storing a genuine 26R race road registered Shapecraft BRM non standard unmodified barn find in there and hasn't paid me a penny in rent, so I expect he's absent minded like me and has forgotten about it.
Rambler/Intruder:
"sucks teeth noisily" Well I am rather busy old chap, but I suppose it will be okay.
Farmer/Landowner:
Well that settles it then, awfully pleased to have met you!
Kindest regards
Alan Thomas

Yikes, this is incredible; now on the same patch a Shapecaft/26R Elan has turned up.
I hope Tim will let one of us know about that one & share his good fortune because I'm sure he won't give anything other than a Sprint a sniff!
What an incredible piece of breaking news!
Cheers
John
