I really got motivated over the Christmas holidays. I have had my Elan for well over ten years but finally got started with the resto about a year and a half ago. The chassis has been done for several months so I concentrated on getting the engine together. I must admit, it took me about 2 weeks to finally take that leap of faith and seal up the pan for my first rope seal engine build. I guess it will leak, or it won't. So, my coffee buddy came over Saturday morning and within a couple of hours the engine was in........no paint scratches, no bloody fingers, perfect. Worked on the parking brake rods and pivet tonite. When I hauled my car home some 10 plus years ago, it was about 85% there, so I am having to source stuff from shops, list members and fleabay. Now if I could just find a out of work fiberglass specialist and get my wife's car out of the garage.
