Kind of a bump on this car but I also found a really interesting site related to it's body work and of course to many other Lotus': http://www.williamsandpritchardregister.co.uk/w&p.htm Anyone know where this car ended up?

You can lose your self in sites like these if you have a few minutes!

It was for sale at Paul Mattys 6 months ago. Sold quite quickly.

I am puzzled as to why any one would go the trouble of making an aluminum copy of a fibreglass body when aluminium would be far more difficult to repair and maintain ? ed [ no offence intended here ]

Are you sure about that? Paul owned and sprinted the green/yellow one for years (which looks not very much like this blue one). He sold the green one a while back but (last time I saw it advertised) the blue one was for sale in Belgium or Holland. Did it subsequently come to the UK and Matty?

...and also a very nice looking Elan fastback, which was not a copy of Elan bodywork at all; it looked like a scaled-down Maserati Mistral and was in a collection in Switz for years; no idea where it is now.

Hi Pete,is it this one or is this another one? If it is this car, according to a thread on Piston Heads it was at Mattys on the 22nd January, go to the thread and scroll down a bit as there is/was some nice stuff there.

Brian,
That's the one; so Matty has "handled" the sales of two IWR fastbacks, I must have missed the blue one as it passed quickly thro'. Anyone know where it went? My money is on Japan, so it is probably just around the corner from me.

Any leads on the Frua car would be welcome; for my book.

I'm not one to render judgments on auto aesthetics (I owned two Morgans for crap sakes), but I much prefer the original Elan shape and front end. Aside from the WOW! factor, I got nothing.

Don't think of it as an Elan..... Gordon Keeble meets 275GTB at 2/3 scale? :D

I was lucky (or unlucky) enough to see it in the flesh at Paul Mattys last
October. It is just as ugly up close. Just my opinion of course.
