Hi Sandy, yes it is a 914-6 although it is not mine. It is owned by a dear friend.
Me and my workshop restored it.

over here quite a few use the fuchs (911) wheels ---------------- 914s are also pretty big bucks nowadays - and a 914/6 must be over 100grand? sandy

If a 914-6 is over ?100k then it has it all going on eg matching numbers, history etc. Not many made so quite hard to find.

Great drive though.
We built a 2.5L engine for this, a true weapon now.

Dash ready to be refurbed.
Thankfully I am both a mechanic and a wood machinist by trade so for me jobs like this are the icing on the cake.
I found a beautiful piece of walnut to use for the veneer.
My biggest job is to find new handles for the choke, wipers and heater valve.
Also some toggles are done for so I will replace all of them.

I found a nice surprise tonight.
A lotus inspection tag from the factory in the LHS footwell, in perfect condition with a small amount of overspray from its one and only coat of paint.
It is sad that I love things like this so much.

That is cool, curious that it says "CBU number"... a carry over from the Elites?

Why is it sad? I, too, love this stuff. I would laminate it, or put it in a plastic sleeve for the car's history/
provenance. Displayed next to the photo showing where you found it.

Not dad at all! Fascinating for a glimpse behind the curtain many years ago. When I refurbed my dashboard I found a tattered old tag attached to the wiring which bore the name of the supplier that presumably assembled the dashboard wiring.

And since you mention overspray, I was fascinated to see body-cour overspray on my suspension arms after cleaning them up.

Yes I have the Lucas loom tag as well. The tag is like new, and the most part so is the loom, except for the areas where someone has made some rather jazzy mods.

Can anyone help with pointing me into the right direction for this to be repaired?
Is Spyder the best option?

Find a good cassis Repair shop in your area. lots of guys on here that can point you where to go.

Experienced the same issue with my S4 ?. seems that for some ignorant reason the drain hole was at the front of the column so it filled up with Road Sand and Dirt. I had to have the bottom of the column restored and put the drain hole at the rear. The rest of my frame was is excellent condition no rust galvanizing in-tact and a quick wire brushing was all that was needed prior to recoating. BTW I am working on a 1969 S4 Federal DHC LHD

Hi, yes I found a repairer for my chassis. It is a relief to be able to use the original.

I have worked out that this car does not have an interior light. The purple wires to the b-post pillars have never been used and also the dash has never had a light on it and it?s wires were also behind the dash with the original tag saying ?court light 3wires?.
Is it common for Elans not to have interior lights?
The door pin switches were wired up????

Mine isn't Lucas. The names eludes me at the moment and I can't find the picture of it, but I think the company name started with a B and was something like 'B_________ Electronics LTD.'
