Racing Elan photos.
I rather fancied this 356, well presented and tidily driven; he gave faster cars plenty of room.
Snow tyres would have been useful in this practice session: incidentally, the Elan was seeing off the Chevron B8 here!

I think that this might be my last contribution to this thread. Or any other thread for a while.

I've recently came across this excellent website which includes some pictures I've never seen before of the Ian Walker Racing Gold Bug cars at the 1964 International Trophy at Silverstone which I believe was the teams first win with Jim Clark at the wheel.

Thanks for the photos. It was indeed my hardtop that came detached. I'm really embarrassed about it and totally my fault. I could come up with a load of excuses and reasons but the end result is the same. The most fortunate thing is that nobody was harmed - and actually it was Mark Halstead that almost collected it head on.
But really, please don't stop posting - we enjoy the photos AND the comments. I don't think any of us are that sensitive.
I'm not stopping racing because of it - I'll just be better prepared at Thruxton on Easter Saturday.
Keep on posting

Last weekend at the Historic Winton meeting. A perfect Autumn weekend for racing. This photo was taken in the late afternoon just as the sun was low on the horizon. Made it challenging to see the S's turning onto the main straight. You will see the sun visor right down on the car!.
I raced for the first time with a HANS device anchoring my helmet. Interesting to get used to the more limited head movement it permits. Made me feel like a F1 driver even if I did not go any faster
cheers

Strictly speaking not racing, but certainly having a lot of fun at the track...as one of the guys said, it's some time since he's seen a car leaning that far over without heading for the shrubbery

Quite possibly not Rohan - and given it is raining here in Syd this weekend, I might usefully spend some time on that Thanks for the tip!
