Foam behind dashboard

When I removed my dashboard there were 2 rolls of foam jammed in (I can't remember quite where). The look quite old, is this Lotus original? If they are any guidance where they go?

I can’t comment on that specifically, but having recently removed and replaced my temp gauge, it’s easy for the various cables to vibrate within the voids behind the dash, creating irritating rattles/noises

What you are seeing may simply be an attempt to improve NVH, if not by the factory, then maybe a dealer or owner

Typically found pushed in-between inner and outer front wings behind dash and sort of in line with bulkhead. Block air flow I guess.

As Richard Cox mentions, except in my case to take up the slack and vibration in the radio aerial.
