Brian Buckland Book supplement

PostPost by: davidsawyer » Wed Apr 07, 2021 11:25 am

I bought the Brian Buckland book on maintaning an Elan years ago and saw there was an update. I followed the email to Guillermo, the publisher in Germany ([email protected]) He gave a link to Paypal, £24 and only 7 days later it has arrived, beautifully packed, no import duties to the UK.

I have no commercial link but I was concerned about importing from EU now the UK is out but I should not have been worried. I recommend the supplement, full of colour photos of the engine.

David

Guillermo and Brian have done excellent work.

I think you will find that the amount is under the radar and in addition the UK has not yet recruited sufficient customs agents to handle incoming duties.

This is not the case in the other direction!

Hi Andrew,
How times have changed. I bought the original book from Club Lotus to find a guy in an old Elan on my drive- Brian hand delivered his book and signed it for me then and there. I do hope he is well.

It sure would be nice if, just like updating our cars (like David just did his book) there would not be tax/import

i bought mine from Brian way back when - mine is signed as well -- It has been a help in maintaining the Type 26 -- little tips beyond what the old (58 years now) original factory manual provides. it is very helpful for the 72 Sprint coupe restro as well - I am hopeful that the supplement will fill in a few more of my knowledge / confusion gaps.

I requested the link from Guillermo as well.
