Various Elan blues for my 26R fast road car.

Hello all,
I am currently working towards the preparation for paint of my early 26R spec s2. I have decided on the wheel colours, a rather nice satin black with dark grey edging o the rims. However, due to the fact that I love all Elan blues, I am unable to decide on a colour. I have narrowed it down to two colours, french blue ore medici blue. Medici blue is the original colour (I was mistaken in thinking it was wedgwood) but would like some photos if anybody has any of early type 26 cars in these colours.

Oddly , I'm going for a light blue too on my S2 GTS, with Old English White racing stripe, silver bumpers and black wheels. but there will be some pin striping, watch this space.

French blue gets my vote, but I would be hard pressed going past the original colour. And it's not like Medici blue isn't lovely!

Medici blue I think, would be my choice

It's great to have some photos to go to. I am now going slightly towards the medici blue as it's original and the first elan I ever sat in was french blue. But my dad is paying for the car so we need to discuss it properly. If anybody has more photos to share, I would be very grateful.

Hi Peter,
When buying an Elan you cannot be too fussy about colour. After inspecting 8 cars, the one I bought was Blue.
At first I thought it quite acceptable but now I like it.
I have been told it is probably an early Lotus Elise metallic. That photo is a few years old. Note no chrome strip on the bumper and still a tax disc.

We have been through metallics before but decided on a flat blue!

I have a friend who knows how it works. It must have taken him ages but it looks great.
I use an apple software called pages. In the photo below you should see my efforts, there are many cars there but you should see my medici blue attempt.

I know it's a bit bright but I've managed to make a mock-up ,medici blue car with hard top off and on. This is what we are trying to create!

For the Medici blue, might I suggest you have a good look at Paul Haigh's super YouTube series.

His S2 is very nicely finished.

I'm not sure which colour this car is (seen at Francorchamps last year) but it looked very smart:

Paul highs car is beautiful.
The photograph of the car at spa is french blue, interestingly enough, that car was owned by Peter Shaw as was mine so quite a coincidence.
I intend to pic up where the late mr Shaw left off.

I believe the car by Eric was the same color as the Avengers Emma Peal Elan during the color episodes.

The Emma Peel car was glacier blue I think. A very grey-ish blue.
