Suriname, French Guiana, Brazil, Peru. Are there any Elans in these parts? In October we are going on a rally of 12 cars from Paramaribo in Suriname to Lima, Peru. Our journey goes through the northern part of Brazil and along the Amazon, crossing into Peru near Puerto Maldonado.
Our last trip to South America included the minor misfortune of putting the car on its roof - but it and we survived - and the roof is now mended with added Kevlar for support! Anyway if there are any Elan owners anywhere near our route - please let us know as it would be good to meet up.

HI Alison, Peter !
Been missing from here for a while. I've also lost your contact details, I think you were in India when I last heard.
You must have logged up a few trips since, have you reports on-line ?
I hope you have a roll bar in the car, i never fancied ending up on the roof in an Elan
Best wishes,
Sean & Eva

Seconded!
It would probably be more productive to contact some of the US Lotus clubs and ask them about South American Elans, if you haven't already done so.
Good luck!

Good evening,
I've discovered your various adventures during the week end and enjoyed reading your exploits. It made a very interesting read and glad to see the Elan has a roof again... The part I enjoyed the most is when you mention how many miles you have done with very few problems, saying that Lotus might not be so fragile after all....
May be you should put a link to your website on here for others to discover.
Leave it to you and looking forward already to read all about the new journey!
Best of luck.
