Hi Mike,
Don't laugh, but you could find yourself an ordinary scissor jack, get a plate and round bar, (the round bar needs to have a shoulder on it) that fits into the side rail on your plus 2 and weld the plate and bar to the scissor jack.
Essentially that's what the plus 2 jack is.
I can send you a photo of mine if you like for guidance?
Kind regards

Great work and congrats!!! Its amazing how much pleasure comes from finding some thing you really want no matter how large or small.
Are you going to restore it :)

I was going to start a "what shade of grey should I paint my jack" thread followed by a "what position should my jack be stored in the boot (trunk)" thread...

Did you get the ratchet with it? You need to check if it's left or right hand drive Federal or Home market. if it's the rare Australian version the raise or lower is reversed

Hey Phil

Nice find! I need one too...

Just to confuse matters further, sometimes the jacks came in a bright red (including the ratchet handle) but the much more common colour was the grey.

Of course, now you will need the rare & expensive (& mouldy smelling) "jack bag" to keep it in (that is if it didn't come with it!). These, IIRC were most often in black but some of them (late ones I think) were a "straw" coloured type. A sort of cheaply made "sack" that I have seen go for around ?60 one or twice on "fleabag", utter madness!!!

Great find, well done.

All the best

The ratchet was missing, but I have one that I picked up off ebay:

I have the red lighter jack as well, I believe that was used on earlier cars:

This will be for sale... I have Sue Miller's Jack bag... far more sturdy than the original.

Thanks for posting Phil,

I didn't know that the red jack came with earlier cars I'd only ever seen grey ones. I'll take a closer look at the red one.

I also have a grey one which as yours has the spigot on the top part - is that correct? It just seems to get in the way!

As jacks are easily lost changed I did think that I had random ones from other cars - maybe they are correct.

Incidentally both have broken thrust races - anyone know of a replacement part/ method?

As long as we're on the subject of the minutiae of the jack (which I AM interested in), how 'bout the date code.
Are you close? Mine is pictured, built about two months before the build of the car.
