The photo of the engine in the article is very interesting. Its hard to see but the cam cover appears to have a set of 4 oil drains coming out of it on the right hand side joining up to a pipe running along the top of the inlets. looks like some early attempts around improving the oil drainage?

Click on the picture(s) first to get image full size, then right click save image as...

Hi all
This was the write up in the January 1963 issue of Road and Track magazine (pages 51-54)- I have a copy in front of me. along with the articles and road test results in the Oct.'62 Autocar, Sept.'63 Sports Car Graphic and Dec.'62 Canada Track and Traffic magazines.
I ordered 26/0538 from the factory in Dec.' 63 as soon as I found out Lotus won the F1 championship and that Jimmy drove one.
It was a lovely day for a drive on the rock today.
