I cancelled my participation to the mc asking back my file and my cheque.
My co pilot who was sharing the cost with me let me down. I got also scared by horrible stories involving ice and snow walls. My car is too much valuable to be dammaged in difficult conditions.
Night stages requires also additional lights and i dont want to drill holes nor modify the body.

Salut C?dric
Nice gesture for your dad.
I may have mentioned this (and you probably know/don't care) but your number plate(s) is not really legal. White on black is OK if you have a 'carte grise collection) and the texts are vague enough to allow the mesh numbers at the front (I keep a copy of the text in my car just in case) - but you should have a small dash '-' between the letters and numbers. I had thought about using white letters sourced from the UK as you seem to have done and I figured I would get a couple of extra 'I's to cut into small dashes. I bought my plates and numbers from a French place in the end - they're quite nice cast aluminium letters, numbers and dashes.
Anyway, if stopped and cautioned you would have to argue for the front mesh plate (I can send you the text), oversize digits (compared to French regulations) and the lack of a dash. You don't look ignorant so a copper might not buy that act.
I'd buy some 'I's and put a dash - just for the peace of mind.

Hello Vernon, I bought extra letters to do the dashes required when I ordered the rear plate and the front letters.
Then I thought: ....... naaaah I won't say it here !, and I did not do it.
Looks more vintage and period matching without these dots. The dots make you automatically think the license plate is up to date.
I stand up proud and fearless for a vintage non legal license plate. I assume...
