A friend of mine just passed a long this website, showing the numbers of registered Lotus in the UK annually since 2001. Not sure why there are two rows for the S2.

I have been having some fun with the database, trying to find the vehicles most likely to have gone into extinction, some rare models just dont show up although I know they exist some were kit or low volume vehicles so are probably lumped in with the "missing" categories.
Anyway i was surprised at just how many once numerous vehicles are down to single figures, the lowest I have found so far and to me well deserving of being on the brink of extinction is the Austin Ambassador with a total of 5 vehicles remaining either on the road or Sorned, down from 13 in 2001
I think that a bounty should be put on the head of the five remaining
Any nominations, can you beat 5 remaining examples or even think of a proper extinction?

I would have serious reservations about that data. I looked up half a dozen of my motorcycles and the first three were not even listed. One of the others (CB400F2 Honda) - one of the most common (Japanese) classic bikes in the UK - has only 10 or so recorded despite one of the spares suppliers buying 50 of them a year or two back. There was probably 10 of them at the local pub bike meet round here last summer.

The only information the database has is what's written on your logbook / V5C. It's just an extract from the DVLA database.
My S2, S3 and S4, and both Plus 2 cars say 'Elan'. Not Elan S2, Elan S3....etc.
Hence there are a lot of 'Elan' survivors.
Hence it's a load of nonsense!
