No options really. Lenham produce them again. The factory never did for the S3, 4 or Sprint.

Here's some email correspondence from Lenham and a picture. I must say it looks a really nice job, and no need to remove the existing hood or hood cover to fit it, but I'm just a little concerned about the paint being damaged on the rear deck where the hard top will rest. I have yet to see one in the flesh and was tempted for a while, but I like top down motoring so much now I think it would be a waste of money for me.

Hello Alan,

We have not got a demonstrator unfortunately but have sold a few in recent months. Fitment is a little hit or miss as you might expect from an old Lotus. Usually requires a little fettling. Feel free to pop by if you wish to discuss. I have attached a photo of one of our recent tops. All the best,

No, never got as far as enquiring a price, but at least one of the members here has bought one and should be able to divulge the cost. See previous topic/discussion here http://www.lotuselan.net/forums/lotus-chassis-f36/new-lenham-hardtop-t25877.html

I bought one of these from Daniel at Lenham last year and am pleased with it, paid ?750 but needed to collect it, as I wouldn't risk this being couriered, it's too delicate.
It's away being painted at the moment and needs some reinforcement to the large expanse of the roof area, thin fibreglass, paint man said it had gone a bit wobbly!! - I'll post some pics when it comes back.

Hi
I bought a Lenham replica hardtop for my S3 last November. It cost ?650 + VAT + ?100 fitting if required - I fitted it myself. The hardtop was delivered by courier for ?40 and it arrived undamaged.
Fitting the hardtop was a typical Lotus hassle - i.e. nothing quite fitted; in particular a fair amount of fettling was needed on the front where it lips onto the screen. The other aspect which was a hassle was fitting the rear perspex screen - which needed a certain amount of 'adjustment', and then fitting the 'chrome' strip which fits into the rubber window surround (but I don't have the special diamond shaped tool). I didn't feel any re-inforcement was necessary, although I am considering fabricating a couple of extra brackets to locate the rear better.
In retrospect maybe ?100 would have been a good investment!
Having said that I am pleased with the result - it sits nicely on the car, doesn't rattle too much (I haven't bothered with any headlining, just painted it matt black) and doesn't let the rain in. I remove the hood when its on, although it can be left in place. I also have a roll bar and it clears that with millimeters to spare.
I attach a picture of car in action with hardtop.
Steve

Thanks for the all of the replies.

I have noticed that TTR has one for early cars and another for 3,4& Sprint.

Does that mean that there is a difference in manufacture or does one size fit all??

Cheers
