Hello, this is what i found in my trunk. Original stuff or not? Should i replace That hammer by a thor? Should i get some kind of leather bag to transport That.
They were wrapped in some carpet and foam... I understand the necessity to prevent cracks in the body shell fiberglass.
There is a t?v sticker on the shiny car lifter so i doubt it belongs to 1972!
Thanks

My hammer has copper one side and nylon on the other side. I am fairly sure it was the Lotus original, so your hammer does not look original.
The original toolbag was a sort of black canvas-like cloth with sewn in pockets and a string to tie it up when rolled closed.
There are pictures somewhere on this site.
Toolroll contained (I think):
Pliers, a Wire-loop screwdriver, a Plug spanner and one small spanner 1/2" at one end (not sure of the other end)

The hammer looks original to me. This is what they look like after they've been used a few times........
There are some pictures of the tool kit here....elan-f15/elan-toolkit-t25927.html ....don't know if this thread comes up in Bill's search.

Yes my hammer looks the same. That doesn't mean of course that Lotus didn't run out at one point & change the specification to whatever they could get.
The toolkit contents are stored as one item.
The Jack & Jack Handle & Hammer tend to live in a separate bag, which apparently was originally used by Champion to distribute their wholesale spark plug deliveries in. (Urban Myth ??)
Regards
Richard
