63 Elan putting 1970's V8 and V6 behind it at Silverstone GP

PostPost by: toomspj » Fri Aug 17, 2012 2:38 am

Here's another onboard video clip from May this year that shows just how good an Elan is. 50 years on it's still a great car to drive. My little ol' Elan is a '63 S1 with original Lotus body and chassis - it's road legal (apart from it has no handbrake pads) but race ready.

If you like these sort of videos, there's a few more on my "moneyintonoise" youtube channel.

I'm looking forward to the Elan race at Brands Hatch this weekend, but to be honest what I really like is taking on the other bigger engined cars ....[url][http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqMbxuwI5uc/url]

Thanks for posting the link Paul, that's a good camera angle and quality video. I watched one of your Brands videos on the Indy circuit chasing a TVR as well, the camera angle gives a good representation of the ups and downs especially paddock hill bend. I drive track days rather than race, but it's nice to see the lines that racers take especially under pressure.

Video refuses to play after exactly 31 seconds each and every attempt.

Shame as it was looking really good.

Tried loads of things without success :(

Paul,

What a sweet sound, I did look at the rev counter and the end of the fast straight but couldnt make it out to well.Looks like you were at the top end of max RPM. I bet that sounds fantastic in the car.

Im not to far away from you, Bovington to be exact. is there a local meet for our area?

Great camera angle and great driving. Bit worried about the Morgan on the last lap. But if you're going to stay in front all the time, perhaps the camera ought to be pointing behind you?!
