This seems cheap?

Don't think its a scam as phone numbers provided and I am not sure what a shell is worth but this seems very cheap to me!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LOTUS-ELAN-S1-BOURNE-BODYSHELL-WITH-EARLY-NOSE-BADGE-/271005593636?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3f19313024#ht_500wt_1413

After another read the badge is not included and its pretty basic and has been altered a bit so maybe not.....

It's a confusing listing. I read it as for sale with the badge but you can make an offer on either the badge or the shell.

The title lists Bourne bodyshell with early nose badge so I would expect to get both if I won the auction.

And as you say the shell has been modified a fair bit and doesn't include doors etc, so perhaps it would not be so cheap by the time it was restored?

HI,
This is a classified add and the price tag of 500 quid is probably only symbolic...someone call him and put us out of our misery and find out how much he really wants
Left hand drive too as mentioned...The only Gold left hand drive in Italy that I know of, is a 26R that won the Vernasca Flag race and that's the ex Ian Walker one. I think it's Gold
Can't think of any others...

"It's a Gold Bug.... it's a Gold bug...."

So; "THE BODYSHELL WAS REMOVED FROM AN EARLY 26R RACE CAR" that being the case, should it not be a 26/R shell (which it clearly aint)?

I think it's intriguing, would make a nice project to adapt something more modern to as it does not have any identity anyway.
Although possible to swap identity if you have the papers but no actual car, but what would be the odds off that?
