Parts shortages ?

Dear all,
recently I have had problems obtaining vacuum pods, I needed a LH for the S4 and also a failsafe pod for the +2, Sue Miller managed to track down the last LH pod and also had just one failsafe with lots on back order with no show. Apparently Miles Wilkins controls the manufacture and supply of these items.

More worryingly I just had the latest parts and price list from Sue Miller and she is advertising probably the last available galvanised chassis for the +2; is this the result of the recent go slow at Lotus due to the takeover?

The link in the above thread showed plenty of frames being made. I can't recall whose site it was and the link is now dead, sadly...

Does anyone remember more?

I suspect you want Gartrac, who are the Elan chassis fabricators Miles uses, since he controls their production. See http://gartrac.com/fabrication/lotusfab ... lLotus.htm

+2 frames would be able to be made by Gartrac so I don't think anyone need panic. As an originalist I was more concerned to read that Susan Miller can no longer get the glass petrol pumps.

I was in Matty's spares the other day and viewed a row of vacuum pods hanging along the end of the racks in the stores area.

I never have any luck with Matty's for some reason. Whenever I try them for a part it's either out of stock or no longer available, their parts catalogue is frustrating where it lists items that they can't supply.

I have a new old stock pod. I think its for a plus 2. Would swap for a RHS pod for S4 (same condition) or best $$ offer.
