Yes, very good Mark. Do you still have the roman Europa and blue Elan?

Lots going on!

How did the corners get knocked off the Europa?

Mark

Thank you for sharing your Lotus affliction! I particularly admired and enjoyed the Sprint photos. Tremendous work.

Thanks appreciated those comments... so a little history.

My first Lotus was the Roman Purple Europa, bought from Derbyshire as a shell. It took 18 months to restore, I just loved it, not origional but a great drive. Next came the S2 Europa, probably my favoutite. Sporting a charge cooled Fuego engine and with an inordinate amount of boost it was errrmmmmm quick. Unfortunatley it met its end (well almost) on the M56 on a BAnk Holiday Monday when the rear wheel detached at around 70 MPH. This caused the back end to overtake me :) pendulum effect and I hit the central reservation. A rather nice police land rover hooked a chain over the rear chassis tube and literally dragged me to the hard shoulder, completly destroying the rear of the chassis. I didn't have the heart to restore it again. So took the insurance cash and bought the Sprint. This was a one owner car from Kendal. I bought it off a 75 year old dude who had had it from new. He sold it because he had two sons... can't cut it in half. I still have the Sprint. Next comes the S4... which me and my friend the Dr. have been doing for almost 5years (thats a story in itself) but I hope to get the body back this FRiday and I'll post some more pictures of the finished job. The photos posted show the car with base coat only.

Back to the S2. I believe it sold at auction for ?5K some years ago and has since been restored. If anyone on here has bought it I have a history file 6" thick.

thanks

Mark
