If the owner of the above vehicle visits this site, please could he contact me as a matter of urgency, or if anybody can put me in touch with the owner, I would be eternally greatful.
les2905 at aol dot com or 07905 963424 add appropriate code if calling from outside the UK.
Many thanks

Not sure, but that seems like a good price for the buyer for such a low mileage, original car, yes?
Obviously, nobody on this forum had any information for you. Now that the car has sold, can you share your reasons behind the original request? It all seemed very urgent and hush-hush, so you've piqued my curiosity. Probably others as well.

Although I did not see the car myself, I understand on good authority that it was not in absolutely original condition, as it came off the production line. Whilst that is a shame, it probably accounts for the lower than estimated price it sold for. Having said that, it is a fair price for a FHC late Sprint in good condition in the current market.
Nonetheless, the car still has good provenance and history and provided it is treated well by it's new owner it will remain an interesting, valued and historic Sprint.

Hi Dave, all,
I wanted to contact the owner of said vehicle, to try to buy the car before it came to auction. With a pre sale estimate of 30-40K UK pounds, if the car made the top price of 40k, the seller would only receive 34K, due to the ludicrous commission that Bonhams charge, ie 15% of the sale price. So I wanted to try to contact the owner to thrash out a deal with him before sale date.
Alas, no one knew him, but thanks to all who tried to help in this endeavour.

So, did you bid?
Sounds like you could have gotten the car for less than you were willing to pay in buying direct.

Mr Wilson clearly did not view the car himself, otherwise even he would not describe it in "as new condition". Thus his valuation becomes most misleading. Fortunately Elan owners don't read the Sunday Mirror - do they?

Not me! Honest. I found it "Googling" Bonhams...
But I haven't/wouldn't/couldn't...certainly not after all the talk about "faux knackers" !

Is this the car that used to be owned by Elvis?
Cheers,
Pete.
