david g wrote:Hello everyone, I have just joined. I have a 1969 S4 Elan (all in bits!) and would like a clue as to where all these bits go. Anyone in the mid somerset area with an on road Elan who wouldnt mind me taking a look?
I'm not too sure of my Geography but if it helps I'm in Burnham-on-Sea.
You're welcome to take a look at mine, but if you need an original engine bay to study you'd better look elsewhere; Zetec in mine

Welcome David
Sorry I am not near you. However, I am in the early stages of a restoration too and my project was a collection of bits. I am taking it really slow and asking a lot of questions of all the experienced chaps on here. I am constantly amazed at the quality and care taken by these guys when they offer advice. This is a great forum!
Enjoy and Good Luck

Welcome David, you have come to the right place. There is a mountain of info in the previous posts and other areas. The chaps here I think like to answer questions easy or difficult.
Look up the Elan Service Parts List and study the pictures, they are useful for seeing where some of the not so obvious bits go. I recently put mine together from bits and while it sometimes appreared a bit daunting, it really wasn't that bad at all. Seemed like I spent more time finding bit and bolts, that actually assembling onto the car.
Could have saved myself some time if I found this site sooner!
Cheers, Jack
