Conflicting information from historian

I have a letter the previous owner gave me from the Lotus Historian from 5 years ago stating the following:
The original intented owner was: G Anderson
Original works order: 1060
Original colo(u)r: Black
Engine #: LP 2356LBA
Body#: 3692
Came off of production on 15 Oct 1964
Dispached on 12 Nov 1964
I just emailed Andy yesterday to see if the letter matched his information and recieved the following:
Engine#: LP 2356LBA (Matches above)
Sold on 3 Nov, '64
Car was sold in kit form
Any explaination as to the different information and lack of other information in just 5 years time?
It isn't a big deal in mind, but it's curious that just 5 years ago more detailed information was available. I can understand the sold date being different from the dispatch date, but the original letter mentioned nothing about being sold as a kit and had the work order number, colour, body number, production and dispatch dates.

The amount of Elan specific factory documentation seems to be decreasing! Mind you, I was handed a sheet of paper the other day which confirmed the existence of a couple of more Euro spec Sprints which I was unaware of, so stuff does turn up every now and again!
The 3 Nov 64 sold date is most likely the date of the invoice to the dealer/owner, with dispatch to the dealership/docks on 12 Nov 64.
The other point is that the first owner sounds rather familiar!

I just got the DVLA microfiche archive for my Plus 2 and was a bit confused about the information when compared to the factory archives.
According to the factory, my car was first supplied to a John Humphries (another familiar sounding name) on 3 Jan '73 as a company car, although I thought just some company - not Lotus. The DVLA stuff has the first keeper as Lotus Cars, also from the same date. Next owner, a Mr E Lloyd, became the owner in April '73. I now assume that Mr Humphries worked for Lotus but only kept his company car for 3 months, which seems a bit odd. Unless it was as troublesome then as it is now!

About a year ago or so I emailed back and forth with Andy and got the brief information you did but additionally the first dealer it went to, about my 67, reg 68 Elan, and know the id plate had nothing about the color so I'd be surprised that would be in any factory info. Then on my +2 again number and motor but nothing of paint although it has the color code on the id plate. Gordon Sauer
