hi all:
say I'm new to the forum and write through a translator, because I'm from Spain and do not speak English.
this site is the only place where I think you can help restore the great elan s2, 1966 that I bought from a friend here in Spain.
Please can you help to locate and buy parts I need to resurrect this wonder I've been seeing since my childhood and I own at last. because this model in Spain should not be many.
My unit is a lotus elan s2, 1966 model with chassis number 26-5590.
greetings to all and hope you can help me.
thanks.

Try making contact with Tony Thompson TTR, he can source most parts for early Elans & also travels to Spain frequently, he may also have contacts in Spain that may be able to help you.
Can you speak English, I don't know if Tony's Spanish is very good.
Oh & welcome
John

Paco,
I believe new rear lamp assemblies are no longer available. They were originally fitted to the Vauxhall Victor FB. Occasionally, used pieces become available. I see a set on Ebay now:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Lotus-Elan-S2-S3-FB ... 19c49363b7
I believe Dave Bean can supply polished aluminum pieces to replace the chrome lens surround. New lenses are available in both red and amber from the usual Lotus specialists.
I think the best available fuel tanks are made in aluminum by Andy Wiltshire in the UK. See here:

I hope this helps.

Paco,
I can vouch for the Andy Wiltshire fuel tanks, beautifully made, for everything else I would try Susan Miller in the UK (http://www.mickmillerlotus.com/), phoning is usually the best way to contact her. Susan also has 'realistic' postage costs and I would imagine postage from the UK would be cheaper than postage from then US.
The Elan uses lots of parts from other cars so it's worth getting hold of a list of what parts came from where. Club Lotus used to have a list years ago and I can probably send you a scanned copy if you need one?
