So much for adding lightness!! What a poor choice of name that is considering the proud history of the Elan.
I'm sad to say it but I think Lotus has lost its way.

Desperate stuff methinks.
I like the styling, a big improvement on the Evora. The new Elise is still my favourite out of the five new cars on show - Elise, Elan, Elite, Esprit and four door Eterne.

The styling of the new Elan is aggressive, and it lacks subtlety. It's for people who want a car to be to be seen in. It may prove to be a great car. Time will tell....

My first thoughts when I saw the pictures a week ago was - too passive and lacks aggression probably because all the money was spent on mechanicals and only a cheap job could be done on styling.
Isn't it a good job we all see things differently?

I can't quite understand that of the 8366 words beginning with E (excluding names), Lotus had to use "Elan" yet again
Surely Lotus Envelope may have been better?
Perhaps its time to change the name to ColinChapmanElan.net
Off my soap box now
Back to work

Taking into consideration the fact that the new Elan has a back seat, shouldn't it be called the Elan +2? The 5 new Lotus models all look pretty much the same to me. Is that a good thing?

If you haven't seen the Lotus site: http://www.lotuscars.com/en/future-cars
Seems all a little far fetched, wish them well.. but its got to be the most difficult market segment they're trying to enter. 5 cars as well, very ambitious! They must have a big stash of cash somewhere (and a big factory). Where's the electric car, or the hybrid? My taste is however more rounded shapes, not keen on sharp lines. No more small cars with 100-200 hp?

Great looking car
Not Elan like though
Rather have my elan
This car should have been the new elise
The new elise looks like a vauxhall Tigra not curvey enough, I will wait to see one in the flesh before I totaly dislike
