Jay Leno inspires drive to Wales!

I read Jay Leno's column in a recent Octane last night. The article was about top speed - and he was saying that top speed on public roads was irrelevant these days. He said that there was nothing to beat driving an Elan along two lane highways, with the countryside rushing by at 7000rpm or 80 to 100 mph.
So got up in good time this morning and my wife and I had a great day out, covering 100 miles on mainly winding North Wales B roads, ending up at Brenig reservoir for a picnic lunch in the rain! A good test of my recent waterproofing efforts which seem to have worked - no wet carpets. Didn't do more than about 60mph though - my wife is a human rev limiter and doesn't like to go too fast! Might have to slip out on my own next time...
