You know that is like $45k US$. Not a bad deal if it has all the parts.

I think I misread this item. This is a plain Type 26. Not a 26R. Therefore my post was wrong. I thought it was a 26R.

In this discription, it says it is a "rare" type 26 left hand drive. What is rare about that? We have lots of Type 26 Elans Left hand drive here in the USA. Can somebody fill me in? Am I missing something?

Well as its for sale in the U.K. then I suppose it could be considered quite rare as we do not have many Left hand drive Type 26's here
.......Colin sent them all off to the U.S.

I think the real question is the definition of "rare". 26Rs are rare. Anything under 30 is rare, inmy opinion.

In the USA...how many Type 26 Elans? I dont know, but they are not what I call rare. Maybe 100 to 200 in the USA. I am sure I have personally seen about 100 over the years. I have owned one and my family 3.

Now I had a 1966 S2. Type 26 with one of the 'rare" red interiors. of course I did not know they were rare when I pulled it out and replaced it with white. I was unknowledgeable in those days in 1972 and the red interior was badly worn, I had some white naugahyde lying around and covered the car in that. It was after, many years after that i was told that there were only 3 red interior Elans. That is rare.
