I find it hard to believe you could push that car anywhere

And an amazing 95 bids - I can't recall ever seeing that many bids before on anything on eBay.
Wonder what the record is, and what the item was.....

It's sooo sad to see a car (just like mine, '67 elan) in such a sad state.

RESERVE NOT MET yet, just how much does he want for that basket case???

It went for ?6899 so what value do we put on a good useable car these days as an S2 basket case sold for ?9000 ?

IMHO
The eBay auction certainly confuses me, things are looking more up than I thought, unless it's a "funny" eBay auction.
Ian, do you have a link to the sold S2 basket case? For me to try and even ponder an answer to your question my gut says twice as much for a usable Elan.
Maybe the F1 effect is already taking place.
Build numbers are a key to collector car market values and Elans are a "skeleton".
Smart guys are ditching the stock market and buying things they can not only put their hands on, but enjoy too.

Wonder if we're in for a repeat of the Classic Car investor 'bubble' of the early eighties - if so, hang on tight and prepare to bale out at the top of the market! 8)

Thank You Ian, once again, an Elan that brings a surprisingly high price, although if one were to sell the dash, steering wheel, door handles, cylinder head and removeable hardtop they'd be halfway home to their investment !
It is a wacky world.
