Can anyone please tell me whether or not sunvisors were fitted to dhc cars ? Or were they optional extra. If they were available are they same as FHC ones ? Do they fit on using same brackets ? Thanx. jc

Hi John,
I believe that the answer is yes, but apparently not to all dhc cars. My 73 Sprint has them
If you give Sue Miller a call she will tell you what cars did and did not. Another mine of info' is Tim. He will help also if he sees your post, and you could always PM him.
Great forum this. I will be very surprised if no-one can answer this definitively for you..
Have fun..

John
Sun visors were made a standard fitment on Sprints from mid 1971. I recall my first Sprint (mid 71) had only one sun visor, on the driver's side.

Tim,
Here is a pic of the visor fitting on my FHC .....is the fitting the same on the DHC as John and I were looking at some visors reputably for a DHC but the fittings were different i.e. it was a flat plate with no spring fitting.

Hello Brian
The fittings are different from what you have shown. The fixing plate is just a flat plate with two holes. This is fastened thru the header rail (from the top) with two small set screws and nuts, and then the trim covers all but the rod onto which pushes the visor. Made in either stainless or chromed or plated steel. Now a remade part.
Su Miller has them new for eg..
Hope this helps. DHC brackets don't have the springs.

Thanks Alex, the way you describe them sounds like the ones we saw, I was convinced they were home made but it would appear not.
