Greg Z - was that your Elan at the Mitty Friday?

Looked like yours but I didn't see you. My 7 was parked next to it.

Hi Mike. Yes it was. Great day, wasn't it? I feared the weather on Saturday wouldn't be favorable, so I 'played hookey' on Friday. I saw the Seven but didn't see you. I wish we could have met up and done the touring together. It's no fun going out alone. I did alot of paddock wandering and occasionally glanced out at the track. I think I might have seen you out there.

Do you plan on going to British Car day at Berry College?

Sorry we didn't meet up Greg.

No, unfortunately can't make the Berry College meet as I'm already committed to the Blind Willie McTell Blues Festival in Thomson, GA - Charley Musselwhite and Delta Moon - should be very good.

I went all three days to the Mitty, by myself on Friday in the 7 (froze to death on the way there and got severely sun-burned driving home), with Betty on Saturday in her Jag (boring but comfortable - the car not Betty) and with my son Tom on Sunday in the Porsche 930 (now they were some great 'parade' laps!!!)

Now if I really get down to it might finish off both the Elan and the Europa in time for next year's Mitty and do a much better 3-day cycle.

Best

Thanks for the pic, Mike! Also, it looks like a great blues concert you'll be going to.

No, but we were the only two old 'uns in the Lotus corral, plenty of Elises and a couple of Esprits.

The only good thing about the new 'Prisoner' series was that they prefaced its debut here in the USA with a showing of the complete original series. Of course the opening sequence is the best bit of it all.

Greg,

Did you fit the new rear arms ? I peered under your car over at the avenues on Sunday but could not tell ( not willing to crawl under it).

George, not yet. When fitting the last bush (outer) on the last arm, the bush 'receptacle', so to speak, split open. ARGHH! I think some PO removed a bush by cutting the outer sleeve with a hacksaw and cut the 'receptacle', too. So, arm is currently at Bob Wagner's to be repaired.

George, Don' let Greg fool you, he has been dilly dallying around with those arms for way too long. He's on the 5 year plan with those. But in his defense, he did replace half of the diff mounts and hung a different muffler.

And on that subject ....... "Dilly Dallying", we noticed nothing new happening with your blue car other than you moved the muffler from a box to a shelf! Do we have to come over with a cattle prod?

And since we all like to see pics and since you are partial to Medici Blue, here is a pic of my old Elan at its new owners home. It still wears its original paint.

Hey !

If any one needs a cattle prod its the machine shop that can't seem to properly fit my new main caps. I am slowly chipping away at the list and making progress - vacuum pods in, the rest of the exhaust tubing bought and yesterday I painted the cam cover ( also been in weber carb mode) - The behind the scenes action has been to get the P-car ready to move over to VMR b/c I need to make room for the 63 s1 elan to land in the garage at home.

since we all like to see pics

George, those carbs look new. It looks like an 8 cyl Elan! Cool. Is that the color cam covers are when you exceed 180 hp?

Very good young man! At least you are being slowed up by the machine shop ........ I'm being slowed by a lack of $$$$
