Auctioned S3 in Melbourne

PostPost by: RedS4 » Tue Mar 16, 2010 3:20 pm

Here's some photos of an S3 that was auctioned in Melbourne on Monday for $25000(AUS) - just over 15000 pounds or just under $23000(USA).

The car looks pretty clean and "presented well" according to the blurb, but the interior shots show a car not very original (I would like the wheels though...). More details at http://www.shannons.com.au/auctions/lot ... BSW8NABF52 .

not knocking it but this has been knocking around for sale (ebay, carsales etc) for well over a year but at $25K if this really did sell is a good buy. I saw it "sell" on ebay less than 3 months ago for $26K....

usual disclaimers and nothing to do with me etc etc

Nice looking car, I like the Lotus yellow on the Elan's. The wheels I approve of, I have minilites on my +2 and S4. Would the climate have had something to do with the seats being re-trimmed, (the original vinyl would have suffered in that Antipodean sunshine)? The steering wheel and gearshift are not to my taste, but easily changed.

Post some more Aussy Elan's, it might make me think of retiring out there if I know my hobby could carry on.

Regards
Kindest regards
