Took a while but here it is. 180bhp with fuel injection and engine management. Scares the life out of me at the moment but can't wait to have some proper fun in it!! I have loads of spares with it so you may see a few nice items posted for sale in due course.

Ooooh that looks very nice, please keep the pictures coming.
A peek under the bonnet would be nice.
Are those photos from Shelsley Walsh?

You lucky man!

Tenner says it is a Zetec.....
I am now an ex-Elan owner but will drop by from time to time with some suitably inappropriate comments.

....the Best Lotuses have.....
a Ford or Turbine engine, if you live anywhere near Indianapolis.
Over here we have Z tec engines in Ford Escorts, a Mazda based car. Is that the same engine as what is discussed here?
Sorry, I don't like hijacking, this should be a new topic...

Yes you should be able to find Zetec engines in small Fords in America.
It is what manufactures call a "World Engine", meaning that the engine would be employed in differing Ford models all around the World.
The basic design work for the Zetec was done by Yamaha engineers; they also did the design work on the Zetec's replacement, the Duratec.
The Duratec will also be in Ford cars in America, notably the 2,3 Liter variant, which was originally a USA only variant.
Errrm topics do tend to drift a bit, fairly normal :)

If it has a Zetec or any thing else for that matter it's no longer a Lotus!

Well, even if it doesn't have one of those newfangled econobox motors in it, it's still a mighty pretty automobile. Gives you something to feel good about when something breaks.

Has the tenner changed hands yet :?:
