Tracking down the US car history for my S4 elan

Hi!
I got an 1969 Elan s4 US spec which was exported from US (probably) some time in the 80's to Sweden.
I purchased the car from the second Swedish owner in 1998 and imported it to Norway.
I am now interested in finding the car's history in the US
The VIN number is:45/8558 and has the:L03 paint code.
(It is currenly repainted in an unoriginal Renault Alpine color(blue) )
