Fender Flares

PostPost by: mdf » Wed Feb 27, 2008 3:08 pm

I'm getting ready to cut off the large fender flares off my Elan. I would like to replace them with a set of smaller flares that a friend of mine purchased from Burt and Faye Curtis of Curtis Unlimited in Northern California.

I have been attempteing to contact the Curtis's for some time but have not been able to get in touch with them. Can anyone tell me if there is an alternate source for these smaller flares ar if perhaps there is another way to contact Curtis Unlimited.

Thanks

I've tried leaving messages on that number (numerous times) and I've tried that email as well. No response was recieved.

Could there be any other sources for small fender flares.

Dave Bean used to stock some 26r type of arch and a much larger flared arch, they are probably some of parts Fay Curtis molded.

Well I guess you will have to wait for Fay Curtis to call back or get someone to stop at there place of business. Archs arn't a big seller in the U.S., did you try Gerry Foley in Tacoma Wa (253-565-2175).
The phone number is from 8 years ago.

Hi, you may want to contact Bob Groat at 707-953-3553 in Santa Rosa CA.
He has some molds and knows "fiberglass and painting" of Lotus cars.
I don't know what molds he has but he may know who has them. He is good enough to make them up.
It can not hurt to call.

As you determine what small flare options are available, please update the forum. The PO ground the inside lip off my front fenders, so I will need to do something at some point and idea of wider tires is very appealing. I was thinking I'd get the Bean small arches, but sounds like that's not an option any more. Thanks. Dan 70 S4 SE
