Yes, that looks familiar.
I always park diagonally in the space to keep other cars from intruding on either side.
As to the perceived size, once my girl friend and I walked up to the Elan (a FHC) to leave from a parking lot, and some people waited for up to get in. They said they wanted to see how two people could fit in such a small car. They were somewhat non-plussed when I told them that not only was there plenty of room, but there was space for luggage for two for a two week holiday, with space for 8 cases of wine on the return.
But there are even smaller cars.
Like the Honda S500 I saw Jay Leno driving recently. And various Fiat based sports cars of the '50s were really small. With no central frame, and with room for two small Italians, the height, width, and length were really minimal.

People are always agog when I unfold my 6'5" frame from the Elan. Unfortunately, my frame doesn't fold and unfold as easily as it did when I first had the car 40 years ago.
I enjoy parking at work between the two biggest minivans or SUVs that I can find, just for the contrast.

I love the sound of a torque wrench in the morning. Sounds like... progress.

I enjoy kids in minivans looking down at me and waving back.
I'm also getting very familiar with the axle hubs of large semis :^)

I always line up the rear of my car with the rear of others when parking in a lot. I'm afraid that if I pull up to the front of the space, some SUV driver on the phone will assume the space is empty and plow into (over?) the rear of the car.
