Elan S2 Floor ribs

I just bought another S2, It's a very late S2 SE. It has had body work from many years ago that was done incorrectly. Part of the drivers floor was replaced with a piece from another Elan. My car has a flat floor when viewed from the botton. The piece that was used for the repair has a ribbed bottom. Does anyone know when or how ribbed floors replaced flat floors or vice versus? Where would you purchase new body parts for the flat floor? Thank you, Frank

Hi Frank
I haven't seen any S2's with flat floors, but all of my S2's are under 26/5000 so I am not sure when it happened. Pictures and a body number would help some. I don't have a lot of body numbers that are late in the S2 production though.

Hey guys, it's great to receive such responses and communicate with old friends once again. Darren, Gary, and everyone......thank you.
I took a pic of the floor and the botched repair. I hope I can attached them. I also took a picture of the remaining pieces of the diff scoop.
This car is serial # 5738, one of the last S2 SE's.
Any info would be helpful. Thanks again!

Hi Frank
That floor looks like a later S4 (see attached photos). I looked at my S3/4 combo (spliced in the middle) and the S4 front is flat and the back S3 is ribbed. any other photos of the dash, fron wheel archs etc. the thing I find strange is that it has only one of the rear battery trays molded into the rear of the floor. I'll see if I can get some other pictures from my trailer later today.

Well, this is interesting. We have all these enthusiasts on the forum and I don't think any of us (including me) ever paid much attention to the floors of our cars. On early jaguar e-types, that's the first thing everyone looks at. I can't have the only S2 with a flat floor. Hmm, now what do I do? Has anyone ever bought remanufactured fiberglass parts parts from any supplier? TIA, Frank.
Oh, it has the battery tray built into the floor but it's only on the right side. If there was one on the left side , the diff cooler wouldn't fit.

wellll I would cover the floor in carpet and get on with driving it - -the diff cooler and air scoop should be on the left hand under the floor of the trunk and plumbed to a pump from the diff in the trunk if its a 26r or clone ed
