I'm making a copy of one, and I can put it on .pdf form. Would that be useful to the community? I was thinking about putting it up for free on my webpage.

Good idea for your own use.
Make it it publically accessible or pass it around and I think you might be hearing from the Lotus lawyers. It is their copyright afterall. Probably not such a good idea to publicise it on this forum.
Just my twopenneth worth.

The book is about 50 years old, is it still under copyright law? And are they still publishing it? Because otherwise, I doubt they would sue me.

If you are looking to make a S1, S2 or early Coupe, some one has already done the work for you. The S3 and S4 and Sprint have yet to be done and put online, at least not that I know of.

Yes, actually it's a S2. Thank you very much for the link. I'll do it nonetheless, even if for personal use.
Shouldn't this link be somewhere in the site?

Its been posted before by me but there is no sticky for it. I guess I may have got this one wrong, the link is for the parts listing, not the manual. is this what you are going to reproduce in .pdf form?

Right, after downloading that file I noticed it's not the same thing. What I'm doing is actually the workshop manual.

It would be great to have it available on-line. The Europa group has extensive manuals posted for those cars.

I'm sorry it's taking so long.
The machine that was doing this had a 50 sheet limit per batch, so now I have about 500 pages divided by 50 sheet batches that I'll have to put together in one file. The software I was using did it well in Linux, but when I tried to open the final file in Windows, it only showed 88 pages.
So... now I'll have to try a different tool and hope it'll work good enough in most OS's.

On your own head be it re Copyrighting. I believe they are still available from the factory via certain outlets (Miles Wilkins, etc), therefore they may still under Copyright law.
