Two Questions Unrelated

PostPost by: elan4me » Fri Jul 21, 2006 5:05 am

First question: My 69 elan s4 was starting to miss at 4000 rpm under acceleration. I change the dirty fuel filter, but it is still missing. Any suggestions?

Second question: When I drive at night with my lights on and the gauge lights on as well the tach cuts off. If I turn the gauge light off the tach wirks fine. Again any suggestions?

The strange misfire on my car at 5500 revs eventually proved to be a knackered distributor (bobweight spindle flapping about all over the place etc). Good luck.

For question 1 I'd say 90% probability a sparks problem

Points condenser (if it still has them?)

Plug breaking down under load?
