UK supplier of stainless bolts / kits?

Reaching the stage where I need to start building stuff up (HOORAY!).

But I need to buy various nuts and bolts.
No point in not using stainless.

I saw a guy at Donnington who had a stainless chassis bolt kit for Elans - but I didn't get his card!
Any idea who it may have been? Older guy, on the left as you went into the hall and on the passageway closest to the main entrance.

Anyone else that anyone would reccomend? I usually use Namrick, but is anyone any better?

Other "nice to have" is a source of rubber washers. What I have in mind is "penny washers" in thin (say 1 or 2 mm) hard rubber that I can put under bolt heads when I have to bold through the glass fibre body. Any ideas?

While stainless might look good it is not a good idea for anything structural as commonly available grades offer a fraction of the strength properties of carbon steel fasteners and even the best grades are lacking the necessary properties required in certain areas.

In other words forget it for anything on the suspension, brakes, engine, gearbox, diff and driveshafts. Other than that, if it fastens through the fibreglass, or holds items weighing just a couple of kilos then it should be ok.

For the rubber washers I've always cut my own with from rubber gasket sheet with a wad punch.

I use www.namrick.co.uk for all my UNC and UNF fasteners. They do large bags of assorted sizes.

I have used www.stainlessmiddleton.co.uk for all the none critical nuts, bolts, screws,washers, pipe clips and stainless p clips.

Agreed take care with stainless. Fine for cosmetic items.

Funnily enough I was on the search for stainless fasteners last week and had a bit of a job finding someone who supplied UNF - wish I'd thought to ask on here!

Anyway, www.a2stainless.co.uk was recommended to me. They have a good stock range and dispatched what I needed very quickly - I can highly recommend them too.
