+2 w/o doughnuts

Hello,
Can anyone tell me if any +2 model was made by Lotus w/o the
rotoflex couplings? I seem to recall reading or hearing that
somewhere, but can't recall for sure. I am looking at a car
now w/o doughnuts and owner claims halfshafts are original.
Thanks,
Mike

As I understand it the Plus 2 always came from the factory with roto's.
I've converted mine to the CV half shafts and LOVE it!

All Plus 2's came form the factory with rotoflex couplings.
To claim that any other type of joint is original is balderdash.
That does not make it a bad car though. Once my rotoflex's pack up (now 10 years old and no deterioration at all), I will go the CV joint way. Be wary of a UJ conversion as I have been advised that the Plus 2 suspension travel is 17.5 degrees, whereas the UJ can only take 12.5 degrees. This may result in wheel lock up under severe cornering or full droop. Not something you really want, but for ordinary motoring it would be fine.
