Hood/Soft top frame

I am fitting a hood frame to an S3. Can a couple of you confirm a
dimension. I presume the rail/tubes run parallel with the top, and
the vertical side of the window frame, but what should the gaps be?

You shouldn't need to do anything special, just bolt it into the hood frametray and it fits. I don't understand what gaps you are refering, but you should always "mind the gap". The cant rails just clip onto those little plastic bobbins on top the screen post.

I have been messing with my (S4) hood frame recently and would say that their should be about 10mm gap between the chrome side window frames and the tubes that run above and to the side of them. I think you would be lucky to get nice parallel gaps.

As the other replies indicated there is not much you can adjust although if you had a new undrilled rear tray you could get some fore and aft movement. You could also move the bobbin positions slightly. If you have a brand new hood as well (FHC to DHC conversion?) then I would not know what to drill/fix first.
