Bonnet latches?

I just got a copy of _Authentic Lotus Elan & Plus2_ by Robinshaw
and Ross. One of the cars pictured on the cover is a green 1600.
Evidently there have been chrome plated latches installed at the
windscreen edge of the bonnet. Does anyone know anything about
these un-authentic parts?

Yeh...the green machine.
Well they are probably the same type of latch we use down here on tractors...cost a lot less than the ones you can
purchase at Halford....near the go fast strip department.
