CV Boots to +2 Hub

Paul,
how do the CV boots attach to the +2 hub? I've never taken the hubs apart
but assume they are either bolted or splined? The only experience I've had with
CV joints was on a modern Peugeot and there the CV was splined and secured with
a large nut. If it's splined, are they the same size as the Elan or is some
modification required?
US listers,
how do the Bean drive shafts fit; splined into the diff and hub?
My donuts are showing signs of cracking and I'd like to replace them but would
prefer a better engineered solution. I'm sure Chapman would have done the same
if cost hadn't been a factor.
Cheers

Steve:
If you want to see a picture of the Bean CV jointed half shafts, go to my
site at www.vistagrande.com/lotus. Click on Photo Index at bottom of page,
and click on Picture Number 10 to see the details. The splined shaft goes
into the differential and the other end uses three bolts to connect to the
outer hub shaft.

Bill,
Just visited your site. Great pictures (the dolly is a good idea).
Encourages me to get going on my own "36R"project, if I can get the body. I
have the same plans: Chinese" eyes, Dave Bean CVs (I have TTR's U-jointed
system in my just completed Type 45 (see www.manilasportscarclub.org), but
perhaps stock fenders and Lotus frame. There is a great looking coupe in
the Japanese book "Lotus File" in medium blue, and I might paint the car the
same color. Congratulations.

Andres
