Hood pins

PostPost by: Foxie » Mon Oct 30, 2000 12:43 pm

Andres,

I've also fitted bonnet (hood) pins to my +2 as required by FIA regulations for hillclimbs etc. However I didn't remove the original bonnet catches, just "deactivated" them by pinning them open with large split pins. Just push the catch back, and slip the split pin into the angle to keep it from closing. A lot easier than getting behind the dashboard !

Best wishes,

Sean Murray

George,

Many thanks.

The hood pins are required for vintage racing. I removed the stock hood
release mechanism (although they can be reinstalled easily), because I was
afraid that they would jam and prevent marshals from getting at the engine
bay in an accident or fire.

Regards,

Andres
