Hi All,
I have a 1965 S2 elan with a QED 'Sprint special 360' modified head this
includes :-
Porting and gas flowing
360 (lift ?) cams
Big valve conversion
etc...
I'm using a standard 23d non vacuum advance distributor, Somewhere on the
list I read that the sprint had a different advance curve...does this apply
to me, if so is this simply different fly weights and springs or do I need a
new distributor.
TIA,
Jo

Jo,
A related subject has been discussed at great length on the forum. It
may be of use - see http://www.lotuselan.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2109
. It would also be a good idea to speak to QED themselves to get there

Hope this is help.

I just had my Elan distributor rebuilt by a fellow named Bob Sarama
in Ohio. This guy is incredible. For $100 he completely overhauled
the distributor. New oil-lite bushings, shaft beburred, polished and
aligned, new spings, fine tuning the advance curve, case bead
blasted, new cam. He is obsessed with quality and attention to
detail. He is retired and does this on the side. No question it is as
good or better than new. The improvement in my engine performance is
striking.
If you need any distributor work, give him a call.
