Restorable Elan +2 Interest?

PostPost by: saarhus » Tue Sep 13, 2005 4:20 pm

I have come upon an early Elan Plus 2 that was abandoned while in work at a body shop. I don't know the year (I sent a note to Mike Pomfret, but he's on vacation until Sept 28th or so), but it is Unit # 61. It drove into the shop under its own power about 15 years ago and had been inside until about 2 years ago. It seems quite complete. Chassis wise, its all there and the tires hold air. I was unable to check the uprights for rust, etc. The glass is in place but needs new gaskets and locks. The headlight buckets are there but the lights are missing. The interior trim pieces seem to all be there, but weathered, having been updated by the departed owner just before it went into the shop. Of course the dash is crazed as you would expect.

The body shop proprietor can provide good title for it. and is interested in offers.

If you are interested, please contact me off line and I'll try to help you get the information you might need.

Thanks!

Stan,

Try Chris Brown at Lotus, the Company Archivist. He has just replied to
a query of mine made last Friday
