Adoline

Adoline coatings (sometimes called anodized) are used on Aluminum aircraft
to make paint stick better. My Austin Healey 3000's middle body sections
were chemically anoized also. Had to get some of the Military stuff to do
it (I was in the USAF at the time - so it was easy) - nasty chemicals - but
then again - EVERYTHING I worked with in College Chemistry clss is carcinogenic.
Maybe that explains my white hair!

Paul

That stuff in college chemistry was not carcinogenic when you were using
them. They only became that way later when they got better test methods.!
So you should not have any problems with them?

The information I have read states that alodine and anodize are not the
same. Anodizing uses an electrical current and alodine is purely
chemical. However, both are for corrosion protection of aluminum and
both use nasty chemicals that are not friendly to the environment or to
the creatures in it.
