Hood storage for S2

I have had my S2 for 16 years now and in all that time the hood (top)
has been sitting on the floor in the boot when not in use. I met a guy
the other day who used to have an S2 and he said the hood bows were
stored at the back above the tail lights with straps. I should have
asked him at the time but I have since wondered how the rest of it would
have been stored.

Anyone have any piccies of how the hood and associated paraphenalia
should be stored on an S1 or S2 (I assume they are the same)?

The bows store with straps against or above the tail lamps. The hood
itself is folded and stored to the "ceiling" of the boot - between
the damper towers and held up by a "rubberized fabric" strap that
goes between the two hood cleats.

thread)) I soon found that it wasn't always necessary to use the hood
sticks. It was enough to drape the hood over the bar and let air
pressure hold it up while driving. When stationary the hood would flop
onto my head, but as I wasn't moving this wasn't a problem. Even in
"rainy" old England the hood was only needed about 2 days a month so this
worked fine -- and I was a motorcyclist already, so accustomed to
getting wet!


For some reason I've not yet fathomed I always had trouble getting a
date while I had the Elan......

Thanks to those who answered my hood storage query. I have a few more
though.

What are hood cleats?

Also, I tried to fit the hood up between the damper towers last night
and it won't fold small enough to go there because of the metal insert
that connects the hood to the rear deck. Maybe mine is non original in
having a full length metal strap? Anyone know?

Also, where do the window frames store?
