There are essentially two sorts of Westfield 11s: the early one had a
*very* Lotus-like body and the A-series running gear, the later Westies
had a hoooge uuuugly bonnet bulge, and Ford running gear. I really
think that an early Westie on the right sort and size of wheels would be
hard to tell from a genuine Eleven until pretty close to it. Some
effort in finding old instuments and switches would mean that you've
have to see it with the panels off to tell.

I agree and I have a very early Westfield Eleven parked next to a very early
Lotus Eleven. The headrest/fairing is the most noticeable difference: The
Westfield aluminum (!) fairing is only half the size of the Lotus one.
