Hi All,
In April, one of my new work colleagues decided to reverse his car into the Elan. Cracked the paint and bent the front bumper.
I reported this to the insurance broker Adrian Flux, like you are supposed to. Ever since then it has been a weekly, and in the last three weeks daily phone call to them to ask what's going on. They lost one of my quotes fopr the garage I wanted to use, and now I am getting the runaround by them telling me what they are up to. every time I phone I get the same quote from them.
I still have not got the car repaired!!
I have been with this outfit ever since I have owned the Elan - 18 years. This is the first time I have ever claimed anything.
I just wondered if you all have a competent insurance company that you could recommend, because after this fiasco, I would like to change insurers. The renewal is up in September.
Obviously applies to UK only.
Kind regards

As you say you only find out how good there are when you make a claim. But Kim (Above) is a classic Lotus owner so fingers crossed he would be more understanding. I have used him for a few years now and is always very good.

I just moved to Flux recently, having heard good reports about them. Their quote was reasonable, in the lower ball-park area of most others however, when they agreed the value, some weeks later, they took another 50 quid off my card saying that because the value of the car had gone up, the insurance company wanted more money.
As I stated my estimate of the value up front and they accepted it, I'm a little pissed off. I'll be shopping around again next time.
If you want a really good larf, ask Peter Best for a quote! I don't know how they get any business at all, so stratospheric was their quote.

Sorry to hear about your problems i was insured with Flux on my Ginetta (Red Star LLoyds ) a woman reversed into me all the contact was with Red Star who asked where i wanted it repairing as it was a specialist car got a quote from Option 1 no arguments just sent there & all sorted in a week or two excellent service. Not so with the lying cow who hit me then said i ran into her 5 years & she backed down 4 days before court appearance.

They did the same to me which is why I went to Heritage.
I'm amazed at how much some of them want and as I've mentioned previously we seem to have very different experiences with these companies often for no apparent reason.
