Had a great race at Silverstone on Saturday, was near the back but had fun with other elans for the full 45 min race.
attached video of 1st part of he race, unfortunately I dont have the technology to edit go pro vids so its is rather long, hope it doesn't bore everyone.

Commiserations to Graham and his daughter for their engine issues, did not see them in the race as they were faster than me and further up the grid

That looks fun.
What were the red things that overtook you at about 3mins?
Was due to be at Donny this weekend for the CSCC round but unsure if my door will be back on

Are you running a 4:1 diff?

Hi Graeme
The red car was a Chevron B6 or 8, a lot of them in the race usually with 2ltr BMW engines so pretty fast.

Running a 4.4 diff new this year, used a 4.1 before, its made a big difference, previously would be in corners off cam in one gear or highs revs in next gear.

Regards

Thanks ,
I'm using a 4.4 diff but found I was at 8k revs a third of the way down Lavant straight at Goodwood ( admittedly it was with 185/70 CR6ZZs)

Hi Graeme

I asked Mike at Ricketts Racing for advice on diff ratios and he advised that the 4.4 was a good all round ratio for most UK circuits especially as I did not want to keep having to change it for different circuits.
Worked well at Silverstone and was pulling 8000 revs on the Hanger straight.

Hi Andy
thanks for the video you looked to be really enjoying yourself. One observation though, the times your left hand looked for 5th gear would suggest you need a 3.9 or 4.1 diff for that track.!
What sort of camera mount are you using, it seems to be following the action on its own?

Hi Trev
Thanks for the comments.
Dont think I was looking for a 5th gear, the 4.4 diff was really good and made a big difference compared to the 4.1 I previously ran, pulled better out of corners and made 8000 revs on the straight.
The camera mount is a standard fixed roll bar mount, the movement on the video is due to the settings of the go pro camera.
